The Frogtown Association of Businesses [FtAB] held our 2nd “Meet and Greet” event on November 4. The event was hosted by United Nude – a footwear design company located on Gilroy St. - in their beautiful space (that includes an original DeLorean vehicle parked in the middle of the shoe display area). Over 25 people attended, representing 15 Frogtown businesses, the LAPD, Council District 13, the City Attorney’s office and Congressman Adam Schiff.
FtAB is in the process of growing our membership and creating community, and this was a great opportunity for business owners and employees to meet each other, share information about doing business in Frogtown, and to eat some delicious appetizers provided by Il Capriccio, Kruegermann Pickles and Tomato Pie. Pamela Marcello from Congressman Adam Schiff’s office informed us that the congressional office is happy to help businesses with the process of applying for an SBA loan. Gabrielle Taylor, our Deputy City Attorney representing the Neighborhood Prosecutor Program, explained that she works in partnership with the Council Office and LAPD to offer a proactive approach to resolving quality of life crimes. (See our Community Resources page for contact info). Finally, many attendees found themselves seduced by the beauty of the shoes on display (the company is having a sample sale from the 16-24 of November, 2019) and more than one guest went home with a new pair of shoes.
The next FtAB “meet and greet” will be held in January. Sign up for notifications to stay up-to-date for future events.
